Long time no talk, right? So much has happened over these last few weeks. I don’t even know where to begin.
– The world has been facing a global pandemic.
– In the midst of a global pandemic, we are constantly reminded of the systematic oppression Black people have been faced within America.
Black Lives Matter. There’s no additional explanation needed.
– On a personal (and smaller) note, I’ve had to postpone my wedding due to new orders and the rising number of cases in certain areas.
I wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t tell you that these last few weeks have taken a mental and emotional toll. Which led to not showing my business as much love as it deserves.
Did I stop working? No. No email or inquiry went unattended. But, I had to prioritize and unfortunately creating and sharing content got the shorter end of the stick.
If you have been a part of my circle for a while, then you should know what I am about to say next.
No one could account for the shifts we were about to see in the world, community or our personal lives. Even though I wasn’t outwardly promoting and creating content, I was still working on my business in other ways.
Was I tired? Yes. But, before everything shifted, I made commitments to my clients. I wasn’t going to let my clients down. So, the energy I would have put into my business, I put into theirs. It was a time when I knew they needed me the most. And, I knew my business could wait.
You might say, “Ashley, why on earth would you do that when you have your own business to take care of?”
Because providing great service and giving my clients an amazing experience is another way to grow my business. Word of mouth is so invaluable. I knew if I took care of them when they needed me the most, they would return the favor when I needed it as well.
Those projects have reached their natural end date, so I am going to slowly get back into the swing of things with my operations.
Get ready to see a lot more of me.
